Director of Rooms

The Director of Rooms is part of the Hotel Executive Committee and participates in key strategic and operational decisions. The role directs and supervises Reception, PABX, Concierge, Guest Relations, Housekeeping, Laundry.

This key role ensures that quality standards are met and exceeded whenever possible and acts as a key stakeholder within the hotel. Together with the team, the Director of Rooms carries a key role in ensuring quality parameters are met, Sales opportunities optimized and colleagues are developed to their maximum potential.

 Job Descriptions:-

  • Responsible for the profitable operation of all sections within the Rooms Division
  • Provide leadership and direction whilst maximizing revenue opportunities and maintaining guest satisfaction as well as colleagues commitment levels to the standard of the hotel and the group at all times
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control Rooms operations ensuring delivery of courteous and efficient guest service
  • Ensure that Legendary Quality Experience, policies and procedures are properly understood and followed through amongst Rooms colleagues
  • Assist in compiling annual departmental operating budgets as well as capital expenditure and manpower budgets
  • Maintain proper training for all new Front Office & Housekeeping personnel according to hotel policy and procedure
  • Create and update all Standard Operating Procedures and Policy and Procedure to meet hotel or corporate standard
  • Work closely with hotels Sales & Marketing team on optimizing revenue opportunities
  • Mature and well-presented
  • Excellent level of colleague engagement/strong communication skills
  • Ability to develop/coach a young workforce with a strong focus on learning and development
  • High attention to detail and well organized
